Heart of Texas Classic
Draw Party - Thursday Night
Join us on Thursday, March 30th at DUMONT’s Down Low, mingle with other players, and relax after your travel in a lounge-like space that serves outstanding drinks. Located in the Historic Warehouse District at 214 W 4th Street, Dumont’s is directly across 4th Street from several of Austin’s LGBTQI+ bars.

The Whitaker Sports Complex is located just north of the main UT campus. Over the years, we have found it more fun and exciting to have everyone at the same venue versus spread out around the city. Since Austin is limited in large tennis facilities, this offers the best solution for us all to be together.

MATCH PLAY: Singles play will begin at 8:30 on Friday morning. The draws, once posted, will have more information.
​
PARKING: Parking passes will be required by the University of Texas. It will be important you collect one upon arrival in order to not receive a university ticket and fine. We will do our best to remind you, the facility desk will have them available for you directly across from the tournament desk.
​
WATER: We will NOT be providing bottles of water during the tournament. However, there WILL be a water monster as well as ice available. Also, you will receive a water container in your player’s bag for refill during each day. Please stay well hydrated as temperatures here in central Texas in late March can, at times, be hot.
​
FOOD: Lunch options will be provided on Friday and Saturday. Just a block off North Lamar, the Whitaker complex has many dining options within a 1-mile radius if needed. As the name implies, UT Whitaker Sports Complex is a university facility and no alcohol is allowed on the grounds.
​
SHOWERS: Unfortunately, there are no on-site showers available.

Gustos has been a proud sponsor of the Heart of Texas Classic for several years. We are exited they have partnered with us this year to host the Saturday evening banquet. Ride sharing is recommended as parking can be a bit difficult for a saturday night but not impossible.
Accommodations
HOT 18 does not have a host hotel. For close proximity to the tournament site, the best location is just north of UT. We’ve listed some standard chain hotels below.
Traffic can be rough in our fair city. The only traffic concern is really Friday morning. From downtown, the 5-mile drive to the courts is about 15 minutes. Please check traffic and navigation apps to see potential traffic concerns.
